For the children in Kenya the third trimester of the ongoing school year has started by the beginning of September. for three of our children that means intense preparations for the final exams of secondary school.

At the same time the start of the trimester causes enormous costs for schooling - a total of 192.675,- Ksh. (ca 1.482,-Euro) has to be paid for school for 52 students (2 nursery school, 41 primary, 9 secondary school). This includes school fees (especially secondary school), tuition for all, meals at school and transport to and from school, books, notebooks, and new uniforms for a number of children.

The high costs for schooling is one of the reasons of the construction of the school - a longtime dream.

The construction of Caritas Mariana Academy is planned to take place in three stages.
The first stage is supposed to be completed by the end of the year, containing class rooms for nursery and primary school. Nursery and the lower half of primary school is scheduled to start by January 2012.

To acomplish this we need substantial financial means, thus we invite everybody to contribute to the future of the children at Caritas Mariana Children's Home.
